...FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK.

I've run in the rain before. I ran in rain and 'howling northerlies' for the triathlon. But running with thunder and lightning? That's something very different.
Well... I guess I'll find out tomorrow whether the weatherman is lying to me. I hope he is.

Hope you have a pleasant temperature to run in. And that the rain, lightening and thunder hold off till after the race is over!
Can't wait to hear your race report. :)
Goooooo, Raina!
Thunderbolts and lightning, very very frightening!
Please, in 25 years of living in Auckland, I can only remember about 2 real thunder and lightening storms.
You'll be fine!
ROFL, Andrew!
Truth be told, its not thunder and lightning that I'm concerned about. Its the RAIN! I would like to be able to see where I'm going, the rain is not a friend of us bespectacled peoples.
Two words: contact lenses! I think it sounds like fun running in thunder and lightening. I've got showers and gale-force northerlies to contend with, apparently, and it will be COLD. Though you wouldn't know the forecast was for gales. It's perfectly still out there right now. What a pity they don't run my race at night!
You'll be fine. Have fun!
Ah, unfortunately, I can't wear contact lenses. :-( The nature of my condition combined with the fact that I've had eye surgery means that contact lenses are ineffective (the lenses have a controlling effect on the whites of my eyes as well as the pupil and iris)
Good luck for your half marathon tomorrow! And even more luck for contending with those cold gale-force northerlies O_O
Good luck for tomorrow. Don't worry about the weather, you know Auckland weather, wait 5 mins and it will change.. :) it will probably be sunshine all day :) Yeah right!
Gawd. Good luck on the run! I'm sure you'll awesome!
Maybe a cap with a visor would help keep your glasses clearer? Long shot, but it works for me sometimes. Sorry you can't wear contacts--rain's one of the reasons I switched over:-(
Good luck!
Good luck with your marathon :-)
Hoping for the best for your weather situation!! I had the worst weather at my tri last year in the summer even. But it was rain and cold but no thunder and lightening that would be nasty. I actually didn't mind the rain as I got going...I was worried I'd slip on my bike but by the run I liked the rain as it cooled me off.
Meant to add, I wore some sunglassed on my bike and run....don't know why in the rain...guess I thought I'd get a bug in the eye....but I could still see even thru the rain. I think you'll be ok!!
Good luck! Ps- as a spectacle-wearer, I recommend a cap!
That is when the gym has its benefits!
goodbyetoallfat - Pity they don't hold races in the gym, aye?
